Newb Series – Are You a Newb or a Noob?
“Newb” (short for newbie) is a slang term for someone who is new to a particular group, activity, game, field of study, etc. The Angles & Lines mission is to support all of the bass fishing newbs out there. No matter where we are in our fishing journey, we all start out as newbs. With a little added knowledge and time on the water, you will move beyond newb status and appreciate the sport more and more every day.
“Newb” is not to be confused with “noob”. A noob is someone who really sucks but refuses to learn/listen to people who are skilled or experienced. A newb is someone who actually wants to get better. If you are reading this blog right now, congratulations!—you are NOT a noob.
For the next couple weeks, I will be posting a handful of beginner bass fishing tips for any newbs out there that enjoy learning with some visual aid. Posts will include general bass behavior, shore fishing tactics and basic rigs every angler should know.
As for you seasoned bass fisherman, please feel free to send in a beginner fishing tip you would like to see illustrated and shared! I’m happy to post your name/organization.
